Pumpkins, will they be ready?
« on: September 03, 2009, 21:53 »
I have some pumpkins growing (I think) in my raised bed. So far I have managed to contain and control the growth of the actual plant.

I have some small 'things' growing, about 3 that I can see, that are green and about 5inchs long.

What chance do I have of them being ready by Halloween, and is there anything I can do to encourage their growth? Should I make them a hammock, or are they happy on the ground?

To be honest, I doubt they'll make anything for Halloween. Nights are colder, days are shorter.

I'm cutting mine to take home as the plant is dying & I don't want the locals playing footie with them.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
