Been using CD's on some string and a cane, been working a treat so far, that was after the birds took my whole strawberry plants, well them or the neighbors!

On a  plot to near mine..............the "lotmenteer" has this up, the line runs the length of his plot, and its about 20ft up..........i'm using about 6x zoom for this pix, from a distance it looks quite realistic, I dont know what the wings are made of, but its something light, as they flutter in the breeze



However, the local gang of 8 pigeons (now seven as he shot one) soon got wise to this strange plastic bottle bird, and decimated his winter greens!

I too use cd's, but now stuck in the grround a bit, between rows, instead of hanging, they are still highly visible..............and can't say I have suffered much loss

Scarecrows just don't think people bother always fancied making one myself perhaps we ought to ask Aunt Sally   what she thinks.

Well... we don't get any pigeons on the lottie when Worzel is there, but he does insist on coming home when the work is finished  :roll: I will rely on netting and childrens wind mills - I don't know if they work but I love them
