Mystery Plant
« on: August 30, 2009, 18:22 »
We planted a few plants this year and we kinda forgot what one of them was. We looked up what we thought we might have planted. So far no luck. I am a beginner at gardening. I thought I would try it and so far we are doing good except the mystery plant. I would appreciate any help in identifing the plant. Thank You!

Any clues - likely to be veggie or flower?

Could be a member of the squash family, from the way the flower etc comes from the leaf axil?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Thank You for your reply. We belive it is a Vegetable cause that is all we planted at that time. A little orange comes out and then the pods and the flower falls off the pod. We looked at several different vegetables we thought it might be. But we could not find anything that looked like it.  We may just have to wait and see what it produces. LOL

I think okra has leaves that are more like hibiscus. kind of 'hand shaped'  and the fruits are long and thin, rather than star shaped

We thought it might be okra and it kinda looked like it but not really. The pod looking things are not growing out they have been the same ever since they budded out. Just more of them. We didnt think we planted any okra though. I appreciate your replies. As soon as we see what it turns out to be I will post it. Thanks Again
