I've got a Daisy too and she has just laid her first egg so I am very proud of her!
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I agree with MaryLou - yes, I named them but I waited to see what their personalities would be before I named them, hence Queenie is the boss, Dolly is the dizzy one, Mavis is the nervous one and Elvis was, er, given a name by my husband  :D

We put legs rings on them to tell them apart as, being ex-batts, they all looked the same - sad, bedraggled and slightly bald.  Perking up nicely now though!

arh of course you have to name them, when you get them you will see how big their characters are, they are very deserving of a name, mine are called Winnie, shes the big maran, then i have cassie the blackrock and my little barnevelder is called Hazel.   Its funny how they sort of grow into their names aswell.   nickyx

We're picking up 4 ex-batts on Monday and somewhat foolishly I said each family member could name one. My younger daughter is planning to call hers 'Monopoly'  :ohmy:

The rest of us haven't really decided yet ...
two daughters, nine hens, two goldfish, three cats ...

We'd thought of names long before we got our 4 girls. Princess Layer, Jabba the chuck, Hen solo, Obi-hen-kenobi! But when we collected them and got them home they became Chooky, Margot, Nancy and Eggy Pecky (named by our 7 years old, not because shes a pecker)

Here we go;
 Boys,; Kaiser, Kevin and Little Danny plus 1 not yet named

  Girls; Posh, Clarissa[nicknamed the Go-Lightlys], Jen, Bluebell, Lily, Olga, Bessie, Frizzy Bee, Glynn, Doris, Lola,Boots,Boo-Boo,Petal, plus 2 unnamed.

         6 called Steve though is a great idea, and much easier :lol:
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)
