Hi,

Ive grown some asparagus plants this year and want to plant them out in a raised bed.  I appreciate I cant harvest for a couple of years but it has been very economical!

My question is....

Do I simply plant them out like anything else or do I need to dig a trench and plant them in that and then fill the trench?  The ferns are about 12 inches now.

I think you only need to trench them if you buy 1 year old crowns.What have you grown them in? if in pots i would assume you just plant them out like you would with any other pot grown plant.I may be wrong, someone who have grown them before may be able to give you more accurate advice,

My duaghter has bought me some crowns and I have to make a new bed for them. Funny they've already been delivered though, 'cos she was expecting them in the spring
