I planted in cells quite a while ago some carrots' seeds and some cut and come salad leaves. They were planted in different trays and even kept on different window sills.
Thing is I put the wrong labels on the wrong tray!
I only realised this morning that my lovely carrot seedlings were in rocket leaves and other salads...

What can I say I'm a newbie!
Do not underestimate the therapeutic values of weeding!

I emptied our compost bin for the first time in two years the other week,
dug some of it into my flower beds, and now I have got a carpet of cucumber
plants growing, and many other plants still not big enough yet to identify.

I think I am going to be over run with tomatoe, cucumber and whatever else seeds we put into the composter. :?  :?  :?

Blimy! That makes me think ......... Today I put a lot of daffodil dead heads on the compost heap   :? Will they make bulbs to haunt future veg beds. I really need a list of what you can and cannot put on the compost heap.

The only thing I don't put in mine is perennial weeds, after that anything raw goes in, and I take my chances what seedlings come up, makes me smile when I see tom seedlings popping up everywhere, then I hoe em in    green manure

You can also put in egg shells, papers shredding's etc
draw the line at dead animals the cats bring home though.

Talking of compost
I emptied my "home" compost bin about a coupla months ago, after nearly a year,(4 barrowloads) took it up my "lot" and as I hadn't looked after the compost this last year ..........it had hardly broken down at all, I just threw it in a 44gall perforated drum and put the lid on,     took the lid of a few days ago, and got this........"earllies"

Previous year I had some good compost, doing everything by the book, layering etc............still, this lot will come good by autumn, I 'spose, whatever, its going back in
Baz.........
Mostly organic...
