I planted mine in Homebase compost........it was 4 bags for 3 at the time and I was feeling lazy.  Probably a tad expensive for the amount of spuds tho?  Hil

I read somewhere - maybe on here or I heard it perhaps on an allotment podcast - that you could bulk out the container with shredded paper as well as compost as a growing medium.

I guess the paper would be used to "earth" up.

I think I will have a go at this next year - must remember to order some late seed potatoes!!
