My plot neighbour takes the mick slightly for me spending time on this forum, "The internet thing".
But today he gave me a question to ask:
What pH is the best for soil for tomatoes?
I said I thought - since its the same family as spuds, it should be 6-7, slightly acid.
Am I right

Yep I reckon your about there Jim

After I did a google    6.5 seems the average that's mentioned.

Well perhaps your plot neighbour has never had a question and no one around to try to answer it for him, and perhaps he never needs to have a bit of a laugh or a cry????

I only got back into gardening 3 years ago, and my plot is my garden, I don't have a lottie, so apart from an OH who thinks he knows everything, I had to manage on my own with my books until I found this site.  I have learnt such a lot over the past year and a bit, and I've made new friends, introduced some old ones to this site and have had more laughs than I've had for years, so please tell your lottie neighbour to go..........

or if he's got a computer, give him the link!!!!!!

Many thanks for your comments RR and GA. THIS REALLY IS A GREAT FORUM, and so easy that even I can find my way round it.
I too have learnt such a lot very quickly and everyone is so friendly,
Jim
PS I must ask (I'm ignorant about all these Abreviations - someone should make a glossary) What does OH mean?
