These things have absolutely  shot up.  Put them in mid June-when will they be ready to harvest please? Thanks,

I think it`s a matter of running your fingers through the soil to see if the root is big enough to use. Some of them can get huge 2ft long and over 2" thick and it can be difficult to dig them out in one piece. The big ones are still good to eat and not woody , grated in a salad was my favourite.

They do need a long growing season, so if you sowed them in JUne, I'd reckon on looking at investigating about the end of SEptember, beginning of of October at the earliest.IMHO

Worth waiting for though  ;)
