Lupin seeds (tremocos)

I'd rather like to grow tremocos (lupin - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupin_beans) which the Portuguese eat as a salted snack with beer.

Has anybody got any experience, and is it OK to use a handful of the dry ones that are obtainable from a continental deli?
