Hi folks.

Wonder if anyone has advice.

I think my neighbours plum tree has botrytis

Looking at his fruit it seems to be covered in what I can only describe as raised tan coloured spots which eventually envelop the whole fruit. I've looked at photo's and it appears to be botrytis.

We've tried pruning to allow more air flow and got rid of diseased fruit but it's come back. I assume that this is because of the extremely warm wet weather we've had.

How can we combat this and are there any preventative measures we can take to avoid the same problem next year?

I think a lot of the `brown rot`problems start with aphid damage to the green plums. Not sure if you can spray to stop it happening i just have regular patrols with a table fork taped to a garden cane to get bad ones off and stop the rot spreading.
