day old chicks fighting!

lovely breed you have there! maybe the light is too bright? what sort of brooder set up do you have??? eg dull emiter, electric hen, broody???

chicks will peck at anything that moves toes are normaly the favorite, when they work out where the food and water is they will settle down. they do need constant heat at the moment. They will settle down in a couple of days. Sexing have you tried the sewing needle and cotten it works for me. straight cock and circle pullet.

Oh yes, thread a needle, hold by the end of the cotten normaly wrapped round the index finger over the chick, and hey presto. Also good for testing eggs if fertile circle its fertile if it does not move not fertile. 
can be a small magnet and cotten, someone on ebay is selling them for £4.99, the needle and cotten is a very old methord and you get this advice for free. haha
can be used on all animals even humans? have a go .
