If you visit a few shows to look at the various breeds and then have a chat with the breeders. Any pure breed of chicken can be shown but you will need to make sure that your hen and cockerels conform to the standards for that breed. By all accounts it can take days to get your hens ready to show - shampooing and drying etc. Showing animals can be a great hobby (my parents used to show rabbits very sucessfully) but it can take a lot of your spare time.
