Picked the first of the beetroot - they have finally made it to a decent size! Radishes, 3 cues, green & runner beans and some leaf beet... the only thing missing for the first time in weeks... a courgette = phew!!

Yesterday's harvest was some giant beetroot (now roasted and pickled), radishes and carrots, and the ubiquitous courgettes.  Also from neighbour, some lovely sweetcorn, rhubarb and cucumbers.

I plan to pick some blackberries and dwarf french beans (which have just kept coming) today.

Not sure if you could call it a harvest today, as none of it made it further than plant to mouth!  Heh!  But even so: tomatoes, radish, brocolli, dwarf french beans, blackberries.

Not sure of the weight, but had three Tesc* "bags for life" stuffed with assorted beans.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Cooked a spicy pot-roast brisket meal yesterday for a couple of friends, and tried to include as many home grown veg as possible as several of them are coming to an end.

Roast potatoes (the last of the Lady Chrystl which I left in the ground as an experiment), roast herby Winter Squash, runner beans, sweetcorn, buttered carrots with parsley, cheesey-baked courgettes. "Afters" was raspberries and Cornish ice-cream.

So satisfying when all your home-grown stuff comes together on a plate to be shared and enjoyed with others!  :)  (Top-rated item was the sweetcorn, by a mile, as usual!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Dug up all my onions a week ago and brought them home to dry today (before it rains!). I started them really late (end of May) but someone on the forum said "go for it, what's the worst that can happen". Great advice!  :D :D
