About ten tomatoes :D

Mange Toute and Peas (Kevlin Wonder) second wave of sowings;
French Climbing Beans - much smoother taste and mouth feel than runners;
First planting of runners nearly finished and the second sowing just in flower. The old vines will come home with me one day to be introduced to my lawnmower and then thrown in the compost bin;
Beetroot, carrots, corgettes, turnips, swedes, swiss chard, kale, sweetcorn and dwarf french beans.

My plot is one of few that are still blazing away while the rotovatar crew have done their damage and gone home for the year!

Ha ha! No offence intended - I'm sure i would be digging a lot more if I were back in the Midlands with the clay until I had broken a couple of spades getting enough manure and compost in the mix. The soil I have is sandy so I would need a shovel rather than a spade. One thing I miss about the Midlands is the fertility of clay.

First year for growing tomatoes and can't believe how long I've had to wait for ripe tomatoes (Polytunnel grown/Lancs) but today I brought home 3lbs of Marmande that have ripened on the vine and 3lbs of green (requested by friend for tomato jam).  Also picked some green Ailsa Craig to ripen at home in a bag with bananas.

There's just a little bit, but it's not badly affected the crop.

Already had quite a few off, some have made it home as you can see. It took great resolve though!
