Not sure sorry, but I think it also depends on what type of eggs - chens, ducks, geese etc and also the time in the incubator. There are lots of peeps on here who hatch with incies so hopefully one will be along soon  :D
Staffies are softer than you think.

I think the peeps on here use about 40% with 60% when the eggs are haching, but in my book by Katie Thear and the booklet we got with the incubator it said 50-60% then 72% when they are in hatching basket

I had a reasonable hatch rate with 50% average, but am trying 45% at the moment and I don't have to put water in as that is what it stays at most of the time without water.

30% - 40% is great for the 1st 18 days then once you spot the 1st egg pip up humidity to 60% i have had fab hatches using this method (thanks Guys  ;)) I run my incy dry upto about day 14-15 as the room humidity combined with the moisture evaporating from the eggs keeps the humidity spot on at about 35% the last few days though the moisture has been used up so i add an egg cup full of water with cellotape over the top with just a tiny hole left. then once the first egg has pipped i fill the water trays in the incy and sometimes even have to add some cotton wool soaked in warm water to get it up to 60%

hope this of some use to you, im on my 8th hatch this year and all but 1 has been good!  :D

what eggs have you got to go in?

many thanks for replys, one question what does pip up mean? we have water in have had to experiment but its at about 45% at the minute .will see how this one goes hopefully learn some lessons and maybe try dry next time .Our incy is very basic but if all goes well may upgrade next yr.
