One of my new girlies that i got on saturday, insists on roosting in our massive fern tree, she knows where bed is and goes in and out of the wendy house no probs but instead of following the other two in she goes and pops herself up in the fern tree, absoulte nitemare to get her out as its abit deep, how she gets up that high amazes me, when we put her in she nestles down lovely with the two other, prehaps shes not being allowed in then i dont know, hubbys getting peed off, cause hes the one that goes in after her, shes only a youngster maybe doesnt understand.    nickyx

clip one of her wings, it will un-balance her when she tries to fly up there, hopefully she will give up.

I did clip one of her wings little rascel, see wot she does tonite and might clip it a bit more,  its my hubby i laugh at bless him, she even pecked him last nite when he was trying to get her out of the tree, it didnt hurt him atall but he wasnt expecting it, the look on his face i nearly wet myself laughing.  nickyx...

A couple of ours are reluctant to roost anywhere.  Still up and about at 9.30 after the pop hole had shut.   Will have to adjust it again.

I suppose after a life in a cage, there's an awful lot to do....  busy happy chucks...... not complaining at all.

A picture of a hen roosting in a free fern would be good!

well if she goes any higher theres no way we could reach her, funny though it took us ages to find her in there and next door neighbours dog was sat there staring at the tree so she knew rightly Hazel was in there, thing is though when i put her in the house she loves it and snuggles down straight away, strange bird       nickyx
