Raspberry question.

Hi everyone,i grow Glen Ample raspberries which is a summer variety,however i have noticed that quite a few new canes have flowered and fruited in the same season,what causes this?Today i cut all of last years canes out,and noticed this while tieing in the new canes.Those new canes that had fruit on them have also been removed.Anyone else notice this on summer varieties.
