Just tell him you would be much quicker at making chutney with a food processor, or get him to do all the chopping for the next batch

Have got all the ingredients  today to make some of this to put in our local show on mon.

Just sat down looking at the program tonight and have noticed the Preserve section, im not sure which section if any this jame can go in.

1 jar of strawberry jam
1 jar of other seeded fruit jam
1 jar of marmalade
1 jar of fruit jelly
1 jar of sweet chutney

Any ideas  would have thought the second one?????

Also im not sure if i can pop in a jar of my spicy courgette chutney.  Any show experts here who can help me please?

Cheers MW.

I'm not sure either but you can only try it in the 2nd category, and i'd say enter your chutney and hope for the best all round :)

Good luck

Well it looks and tastes beautiful (tho OH doesn't like it). Am wondering if it is going to set when it cools as did the 4 minutes but seems very runny. Used up my accidental monster courgette plus 4 more normal ones which has got the courgette supply back under control.

I made some and had the same problem that it didn't set despite using jam sugar. I just tipped it back into the pan, re-heated and added some more dried pectin (again Silver Spoon) and, second time round, it was fine.

Did you use a bit too much courgette?  I've made it 5 times now and its set every time.  Also tried it with apricots but it not as good as the pineapple.

Well done MW :)

We're liking it also and choosing it over the strawberry ::) Its lovely on a bit of fresh crusty bread.  I like to think its healthier than a slice of cake

Don't think so, was just having a bad "setting" day I think. Also made the Crushed Strawberry Jam recipe off the back of the Silverspoon Jam Sugar bag from frozen strawberries (de-frosted) and that didn't set either! It also had to get tipped out the next day, re-heated and dry pectin added. Both the Courgette and Pineapple Jam and the Strawberry Jam are lovely now though.
