Dust bath
« on: July 29, 2009, 20:52 »
What do i need to give my lovely new girlies in the way of a dust bath?  They have a very large grass area to free range in, apart from a small very wet muddy patch in one corner thanks to our scorcher of a summer!!!!!

Any advice would be greatlly appreciated, as would help on posting some pics of my lovely girls.
Finally got the space, now just nead the girls!!

you will probably find that when that wet muddy patch dries up they will use that, i tried putting a box thingy filled with sand out for them to dust bath in but they didnt go anywhere near it and made there own under a tree.    Looking forward to piccys.   nickyx

Even though ours have got loads of self made dust bath places we provided them with what I call a medical bath ........dry soil with a dash of mite and louse powder..........never thought they would use it much but they love It

If you're using the quote function, you need to be really careful that you start typing after the final [/quote] - which can sometimes appear a line or two further down the page than you expect.

Otherwise your new typing will appear inside the quote box and isn't that easy to spot  :)

Don't worry, we've all done it at some point though
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

What a great idea for an old dog bed.  I got a well chewed one in the shed, and am going to dig it out and do exactly what you've done.

Lovely setting for hens.
