Broad Bean Spots

Does anyone know whats caused this and is it ok to compost. The beans seem ok inside.

Not very imaginative by whoever named it, but its called Chocolate Spot.  Typically would have affected the foilage too.  The beans should be fine, won't hurt yield too much unless very severe.

I seem to see it to some degree almost every year.  Fine to compost as far as I am aware!
