We've just had a lovely piece of beef from our excellent butcher with roast spuds (Arran Pilot), carrots and parsnip thinnings from the garden and runner beans from the freezer (using up the last of last season's)  :D.

It's a win-win. I feel virtuous, hubby thinks that I'm a domestic and gardening goddess and my son (aged 2) eats veggies without complaint if I tell him that he helped mummy to grow them.

Respect to those of you who've manage to sort out home-grown pud too!
My music teacher was right. If you have to make a mistake, make it good and big and loud; with a bit of luck people will think that it was always meant to be like that.

When my daughter wants to get in my good books she tell me what a good veg grower  I am and my carrots are the best in the world.  It's cupboard love. :D

My tea last night was pots, carrots, broccoli, beetroot & courgette from the lottie and peas(mine were pants) and sausage from the shop.
My first reall mel with loads from the plot as I only took it over in April.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
Felt very proud.
Looking at keeping chickens at home now but OH needs persuading - he'snot into doing any work but enjoys the fruits of my labour!!

I love meals made with home grown ingredients.

Last night we had homemade game pie with allotment potatoes, courgettes and runners followed by crumble (allotment rhubarb and foraged blackcurrents).  MMMMMmmmm.

Too many runners though so I followed John H's recipe for pickling french beans instead using some of my runners.
