Anyone know what this is ?

Not a hundred percent sure what this is, the one of the OBs gave it to us as he had some left over but he didnt know what it was. Its in with courgettes, pumpkin and squash but which is it  ???

Our baby gem squashes are a similar shape but darker green. I am betting on a wierd cross breed! Might taste good though.... :tongue2:

strangely, given the shape they should end up, this is the same as my butternut squash babies :ohmy:

I had lots of plants like this come up in my vege patch this year.  In the winter I put my old compost over the soil and it had alot of melon seeds in it that obviously did not compost and sprang back to life.  I have one large one growing as I left it where it was to and now have about 6 fruits coming already.  No idea what sort of melon as I buy lots of different ones during the summer.  Letting it grow on for fun really as you never know if we have more good weather then I could have some melons for free by end of August!

my pumpkins have more of a bottle top to them - errr how do i describe it  - they're spherical with a bit that stick out opposite the stem... :)

Its sort of half and half with the trailing, the flowers are bright yellow and look like cucumber flowers but alot bigger, we have a right mix of plants at the moment as all the OBs sent us left overs  :lol:

looks like a round courgette to me but at that size on pic it looks gooseberryish lol
