i also tried the garlic on my carrots but i could not stand the overpowering smell!

I have marigolds (3 varieties) in my raised bed in between my cabbages, carrots, sweetcorn and lettuce, I also have some netting, and copper tape across the wooden edge.... they are still attacking my cabbages

I am also still getting slugs... this growing lark certainly keeps you busy!! <giggle>

No, I think I got it right. Had to re-read it to be sure.

I'd blast them off with water or soapy water and then cover them with Enviromesh well pegged down.

I also plant sacrificial crop of nasturtiums, and leave clumps of stinging nettles on my plot margins as the cabbage whites like to lay their eggs on those.
