What can I grow from Seed in July?

Hi, I have dug up my new spuds (lovely this year  ), eaten the broad beans (and made lovely Catalan dishes), salad stuff coming along nicely, as are the onions, courgettes, squash and pumpkin.  However, I wondering what I can plant in July?  Is it too late to plant / start off Cauliflour, Cabbage, Garlic and Brussel sproats?  What could I start off now which would be ready for X-mas time?  Any ideas would be very much appreciated...

Endive for autumn and winter salads - wonderful when blanched, keeps crisp for ages when cut stays fresh - keeps in the ground for weeks and is never ever cheap in the shops.

Chicory - witloof for growing until the autumn then forcing indoors (great if you have a cellar) - you'll never buy from the shop again after you've cut your own and eaten it within hours.
