Flea beetle control
« on: July 08, 2009, 21:33 »
Has anyone had any luck with organic pyrethrum products.  I have serious flea beetle attacks on young oriental veg, radishes and rocket.  My more establishes brassicas, although in the same bed, seem unaffected.  I'm dreading planting out my spring cabbages next month.  I tried to get a pyrethrum spray but could only get a powder which is not easy to apply.  My plants look like they've been attacked with talcum powder.  I've also heard that flea beetles are worst in dry weather so i've given the brasiccas a good water.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Water....That's the only way i got any control last year! I had them badly on the swede, so kept blasting them with the hose, they looked really sorry for themselves, specially when nature helped a lot the next day. ::) But that seemed to put paid to them and i ended up with a good crop :)
