brown patchy goosegogs

Just picked most of my goosegogs, not a huge amount but they are nearly all affected by dry light brown patches.
Earlier in the year they were attacked by the dreaded gooseberry sawfly, and I sprayed them with Bug Off.
Leaves have not been affected, just the fruit.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is, and is the fruit still edible?
