i have a spraying license. we use glysophate a lot at work.
you've got too much product. if it aint open, getcha money back. hectare is 10,000sq meters.
dont use a water can.
you can get a pretty cheap spayer from the garden centre(one of them pump up jobs) use it on a course spray, not fine.
dont do it on a windy day(avoid drift)
glysophate isnt too harnfull to you( if you dont drink it, bath in it,or breathe in the mist) it breaks down in contact with the soil. allways use protective clothing (no shorts!!)
get roundup or tumbleweed, its the same stuff (sort of) and cheaper.

If it is for an allotment then can I ask, do your allotment society have a sprayer? Ours lent us a sprayer and gave us the glyphosate too. They even diluted it for us  :)

technically speaking, dilution rates will be different for different users, this is because different people walk at slightly different speeds, also, if you are using one of the sprayers that need to be pumped constantly, people pump at different rates, so the pressure inside the tank will be different.
all sprayers need to be calibrated for each person that uses it.
the formula that needs to be used takes all this into account.
walking speed/nozzle application rate(litres per minute) pumping rate/time

if you just use "rule of thumb" then you may well put down too much/not enough.

our allotment soc wont let anybody use weedkillers unless they have a nptc licence (PA1/PA6)
most of the sprayers you can buy at the garden centre tend to be slightly too high a pressure for most weedkillers, great for fungicides/insectocides though.
you can get around that by adjusting the nozzle so you get a more course spray, but you need to pump the thing up a bit more often.

I'd no idea it was that technical!

Much safer to buy something designed for the gardener to use if you're not qualified.

I've used amicide on horsetail and a very small amount of roundup selectively on bindweed and couch grass. Most other weeds are easy enough to dig out or hoe away.
