It happens.  It is probably due to them resting on wet ground and rotting, or maybe incomplete pollenation.  Either way pick them, cut the rotten bit off and use the rest if there is any.  There will be plenty more courgettes on the way.

i agree with Gilli... i think the main reason for yellow ends (espesahly it they are thin and yelow) is lack of polination. Happens quite a bit... minly because each flower is only open for a day or so and if there arn't a lot of insects about that day then the flower will die and the unloinated corjet not grow.

Nothing to worry about though, just snip them off... the plant will have another corjet ready to go in day or two

My courgettes have yellow ends - both ends and yellow middles too! 

The green courgettes were planted much later than my all-yellow variety so I haven't any green at all
