Anybody got any tricks to deal with Caterpillars? I've been told to spray with a salt solution and with dilute washing up liquid. Just wondering if these or any other remedy would work.

I think a lot of people manually pick them off unless you have a real problem, if it were me i would spray with mild soap mixture.

I take the odd hour or so and walk around with sharp scissors giving them the snip. Leave the carcase on the plant as it repells other caterpillars from climbing too far into that plant - they detest the taste of their own kind.

Squish squish for me, but try and get them while they are still eggs.

If you know you have hedgehogs, I would gather up and put in a bowl for them in the evening.

fleece for me... brasicas are all 100% covered in the stuff.

Well, I've resorted to picking off and squashing, then blasting the cabbages with the hosepipe, but it's time consuming work.

Now that would be a delicate operation, shooting caterpillars whilst leaving the plant intact

give them the thumb and fore finger squeeze , it works evey time , use the cheaper washing up liquid , or even use BUG OFF SPRAY pestacide
