how to pick courgette flowers

I have not tried stuffing courgette flowers yet, but I will soon.  You use some of the male flowers.

If I take the flowers off do I lose the courgette      

As Gillie says you use the male ones (the ones without the baby courgette behind) and only if you have a few male flowers as you obviously need to leave some to set the female flowers.
Just pick them in the morning when they are open
