Does anyone have the secret of growing lettuce that are ready in August?

I made the beginners error of buying my little gems - 6 plants for £1.50, they grew well and tasted nice by 19P for Notto sounds like a winner to me!

they also do an all yr round lettuce will let u know what its like.The best thing about little gem is you dont have to wait til its full size to eat it ,i find if you let them get too big they are bitter so to make sure i use mine up i start eating them when they are quite young they have lovely flavour.
