I've not grown swede before - stuck seed in after lifting elephant garlic as I had the space. I'm hoping they will like the soil conditions.

Would chicken manure pellets be ok in place of miracle grow?

Theyll be good too Learner, Swede ( as you know) are a long time in the ground if they have to be, and chicken pellets are slow release food. Saves mixing up a feed

Thanks all for the advice.
I planted as it said on the packet, they are just under tenis ball size already.
I thought may be I was over watering if anything!
