my hens are all fine as i can tell, but i have found that when the eggs are boiled , i can't seem to peel them very well because that white membrain  thing directly under the shell is very tough. am i doing somthing wrong or can it be rectified threw diet.????

no nothing wrong it's just that they are very fresh eggs - shows that shop bought ones are quite old.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I keep half a dozen eggs outside of the fridge for a week or two just for boiling. I know that they are not so fresh but it saves the frustration and waste of the shells sticking on so hard.

I wondered why it was so hard to peel the eggs after boiling them.

Hi
I have no problem with boiled eggs as l do all mine in the microwave. I just crack open a egg and put it into a egg cup (remembering to puncture the yolk a few times to stop it exploding)  and cover with a saucer for about 30 secs.  Punture a couple more times and cover egg again and microwave for a few more seconds - no shell problem.

This always works for me.

If you do get a surplus of eggs and decide to pickle some do as Azubah said and leave them for two weeks before cooking and they will peel cleanly.

Hi, I've found that just a few days is enough to give a clean peel. I leave a few on the side for scotch eggs as it drives me mental peeling fresh ones! I did notice recently that while visiting my mums house in TRNC that the shop bought eggs were really hard to peel just like really fresh eggs and that has never happened with shop eggs here.

I've become an egg bore! Nic.

great tips there because before Christmas i made 2 big jars of pickled eggs {30 eggs} and i made a hell of a mess trying to peel them because they were obviously too fresh , next attempt i will set the eggs aside for a week or 2 .
