I've loads of that as well mainly in soil from turf i'd rotted down its now in the whole carrott bed :mad: :mad:and makes weeding a pain

yea I do but me age is catching up with me and I forgot, but it is an annual and can be composted or dug in.

Fat Hen as Aunty says - spreads like mad but apparently you can eat it. Just keep pulling it up and composting it. Roots aren't very deep.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I spent Summer holidays in my youth pulling out huge fat hen plants from sugar beet.  They can grow to 4' tall and some needed two of us to pull them out when the ground was dry.

I've had this weed appear in loads of tubs, flowerpots etc.. infact, it has grown everywhere that I used compost from a new bag (not sure if i'm allowed to name the brand!) which I bought a couple of months ago.. including down at my allotment !!! Could it have been in the compost already i'm wondering ?

great a weed that you can eat! at last they have a use - fat hen sandwiches then this sunday -ummm somehow that does not sound as tasty as chicken sandwiches :D
