All my sprouts have been eaten

I'm absolutely gutted. I planted them out a week ago, I limed, firmed the ground, dusted with derris the works. They were fine on Sunday afternoon, in fact not just fine but really looking good. Popped over to the plot after work yesterday and they're gone! The LOT! I know I should have protected them from birds with netting but I didn't think about it. I haven't got any spare ones. Honestly, I feel like I've done a days work and not been paid. I feel like shooting every damn bird I see.

I haven't seen Brussels seedlings anywhere to replace them.

I'm too late aren't I? :o  :(
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

Sow again, quick. Try Pier Gynt (excuse spelling) as they are fast.

Pigeons. (Expletive Deleted)

I'm feeling a bit more composed now. I went to Wyevale to get someone some shrubs as a present and they had 4 trays of Bedfordshire Darkmar.I bought one and have planted about 8 and have about 4 left as spares. They are a bit smaller than mine were but I'lljust hope they take for now.

I would have got some of those Try Pier Gynt if they hadn't had the seedlings. Was a bit peeved about what happened but we have had some of the spinach beet thinings in our dinner tonight and feel more sanguine.

And I put netting around the sprouts, and other things seem to be doing ok, like the swiss chard.

Phew

Nahhh you just need a family of foxes in your allotment like we have! No bunny problems.
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

Thanks people, I don't want to adopt a family of foxes much but I don't think it was rabbits.

I've done the old nature trail and have only seen Rabbits at the other side of the allotments, no sign of them near our plot. I would like permission to go and shoot them but thats mainly because I like eating rabbit. The only place I've got permission to go shooting rabbits is in Essex!!! thats miles away and would cost so much in fuel I may as well buy them from the local butcher.

I think John was right about pigeons, although could be magpies. Then again, if that cats not been doing its job it could be mice I suppose.
