French beans, runner beans & peas for over winter crops? Only if they are in the freezer!

A lot of your over winter harvestable crops should already be sown or planted. Certain varieties of cabbage for instance, leeks, sprouts etc..

In the next couple of months you'll need to be sowing things like spring cabbage & caulis to kick in after the winter crops. That's just for example.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've only just sown winter cabbage MInicole, and Samantha small savoy, Tundra large savoy/white cabbage hybrid a very nice cabbage fully winter hardy if you have the space, and swede Marion still to sow. (Sowing dates savoys...may to July, minicole may to june, swede Mid april to mid july.)
Then to sow some Greyhound pointy cabbage hopefully for spring :)

Winter salads!   - sow rocket, land cress and lambs lettuce outside mid-end Aug.

Transplant Sept  & enjoy all winter long

I sow things like pak choi, kale ( cavolo de nero is a fave) and mesclun to overwinter, and an absolute gem .. red mustard  :D which overwinters well under a cloche

More of an autumn crop than overwinter but if you have a good depth of soil the giant Mooli radish is worth a go. Very good grated in salads.
