Purple sprouting broc
« on: June 15, 2009, 21:02 »
Another one!

I planted my purple sprouting broccoli seeds late, towards end of may and have recently potted them on at around 3-4inch tall. Should i still bother with these or am i too late?

cheers

same size as mine
Mine can't get planted out until the peas are finished in the next few weeks, but i think they will be fine.... they have the rest of the year to grow :)

My book says they can be sown up to the end of July and may well benefit from late sowing.

I have not sown mine yet!

Cheers,

Gillie

Mine only have two sets of proper leaves and seem OK ---- on the edge of my red cabbages so hoping there is enough room

Ooh you might be able to help me sunshineband - I have PSB and red cabbage in modules but I can't remember which tray is which.  One of them have a red tinged stem - which one is it?

Mine are about the same size as yours.  I am waiting for some things to make way so that there is space at the plot!

I think the red tinge might just be a bit of a give away Elcie.   Only the sprouts are coloured on PSB. ;)

Yes, the stems on the red cabbage are red, as are the leaf veins  :)
