I thought garlic was pretty tough stuff.... so I'd just harden off and plant.

Ask Whiskey Golf.... he's a little fond of garlic he is....

(Oh Whiskey... found a neighbour with a smoker.... & told them they must smoke their garlic..... :).... may even buy a smoker myself as I have SOOOOO much garlic planted this year!)
Sally (N.Ireland) Organic as far as I know!

Plant plenty.  Celebrate success.  (Let selective memory deal with the rest.)

the sooner you get it in the ground the better, it may still be too late but there's always next year.  Garlic ideally should be planted outside in the ground late autumn or very early spring as it needs some cold weather to help it form into a big bulb of cloves.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

I planted my garlic last autumn, and its doing very well. I think that garlic should be always planted where it will mature as not to disturb the development of the bulbs. Only slightly annoying thing that it is getting rust, i would be so annoyed if i lost the crop which includes over 200 onions and garlic!
I have decided to leave the rust as there is little i can do, as it is air born and would just return anyway.
Smoked garlic is heaven, and they charge so much for it at my local farmers market! I'm definitely building my own smoker this year. (oh and to smoke some local chicken breasts too) :D

Did you see http://www.chat.allotment-garden.org/viewtopic.php?t=2593 ??   I only just sold out a few days ago but loads of people on this forum traded for some.

New crop will be ready in mid/late July but cash customers will obviously take priority; I will commence bartering it again later in the year.

Are their any guides to 'smoking your own'? Not that I want to put you out of business, but I have got about 40 plants on the go... I quite fancy a smoke. :D

I remember someone (I think it was Heather_S) saying you could cheat by putting them in the fridge for a few days. I'd try that then just plant out and see.

Plant between August and November.  Your seed probably won't last that long so plant it now, lift in July & replant

Er ... I don't feel like telling 1250 people on a public forum.  Why don't you PM me a list of types of wood you can get & I'll tell you if I think any are suitable.

I reckon that you growing something extra to trade with me for the garlic is a better bet ...
