Planting potatoes
« on: June 14, 2009, 00:28 »
I still have a number of chitted spuds that could be put down but time and space is beating me, however just taken u a few rows of my earlies,so wondering if putting some chitted mains where the earlies have just been is a good idea or best to be avoided?

The earlies themselves were a mixture of medium to small sized however they were plentiful, with only about 10% that were no good. Don't think it was blight but assuming its ok to plant mains where the earlies have been should I avoid because of approx 10% being chucked away or is that to be expected? There were 2-3 potatoes which were the actual seed potatoes themselves which were slushy....any worries with regards that or out of approx 35 is the loss quite minimal its to be expected.

As long as not blighted.......don't see why not. Soil will need a good feed first though :)
