Apple Tree

I planted a 2yr old apple tree in April.

My question is should i let it fruit?

It has started to grow apples and i do know i should NOT let it in the first yr but is that the first yr i have the tree or is it the first yr of the tree life??

Agree with mumofstig.  Don't let it fruit more than the one taster.   It needs to concentrate on putting down strong roots in the first year.  Make sure it gets plenty of water down at the roots.  After the first year they can fend for themselves much more easily.
