i have some growing on my lottie but not sure where it came from

Bottom left hand is just nasturtiums. Provide edible flowers.

how do you get away with not netting your brassicas?  i wish i could!

erm...netting ya brassicas? lol! Just keeping an eye on them for caterpillars

Yep! They all keep racing pigeons on our lotty!
