make compost with the perenial weeds but not things like docks, bindweed etc
make a plan of your allotment and work out what your gonna grow were.do lots of reading on crop rotation, plant needs etc so ur well prepared for next season...after u have planted what u can of course ;)

Dig an area plant with some salad and dig some more and plant some more stuff keep going till it really is to late, make sure you plant something as a reward for your hard work.
Thanks

Hello, I've had this plot for a few months but my start was delayed because of a nasty head injury. Now I am ready to go... There are about 4 beds already down, all overgrown and I have dug the front 2 that you can see on the image before the bushes. What would you do next?

Your lottie isn't as over grown as mine but the soil is very good as it was only rotovated las year

Take your time i say, Like myself just got a plot which was not overgrown much but needs alot of digging. I covered most of it with plastic until i am ready to dig that area so the weeds dont catch up with me. I also recommend Johns book from here on Allotments as it tells u everything u need to know
