Can I give my girlies fruit

As some of you know I have 2 wyandottes.  And now that strawberry's and lots of other soft fruits are readily available, I was wondering how often and how much I can give them.  Also pineapples are cheap at the moment, so was wondering if I could give them the base to peck on.

yep, they love soft fruit!

wrt strawberries: my lot decided they were going to help themselves to my punnet, but because they couldn't get a whole strawb in in one go, they pecked at each one and left them in there! full of holes!
so my advice is to chop them up a bit so they can eat them.

Do not give them to much fruit or it will give them the runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

he's right though.

I planted my strawberries in hanging baskets to keep them away from beaks!  My hens love strawberries but need to have them chopped up a bit.  Mind you, I still don't trust them!
