yes and yes  :wink:  bought it as Spanish radish, the only problem I had was the pesky cabbage root fly attacked it for fun so I havent bothered since. I have found some of the white radish is less affected by them so tend to grow that now.

Yup. Spanish Black Round. They grew and kept better in the ground than the daikon. With winter radishes you absolutely should NOT plant until after summer solstice. This isn't one of those mamby pamby lunar mumblejumbles - winter radishes just bolt if you plant them before solstice because they can tell the difference between lengthening and shortening daylight ... lengthening daylight means they wanna produce seed. Took me a while to figure that out last year so I wasted some seed but grew fine after I planted them later.
Mine wasn't so strong, like how some articles seem to suggest but I thought they were a lot more crispy than summer radishes.
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

Just used mine raw. Wasn't sure if the skin would be too rough but it seemed fine if the radish was thinly sliced. Had them with a bit like a healthier version of crisps & dip ;)
