I have an eglu so the perches are all at the pretty much the same height.  Should I put a log in there or something to put different heights?

I have 3 hens if that makes a difference.

no, keep your eglu just the way it is  :D, different perches work if you have a lot of hens.  My perches are all the same height but the older birds are all on one and the newcomers are on another, and there is trouble if they try to get on the older girls perch.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I'm about to get my Hens on Saturday and only one question remains!
Is my Perch high enough.....or too high?
It is currently 9 inches from the floor of the house.  The height of the Nesting quarters is about 2 foot.  I wondered if my perch was too high though.
I've now abandoned my idea of Ex-Batts, after reading negative things about them on here and I'm now having new Hens on the Point of laying. Less aggro!    Tim
I don't know what people have said about ex-bats but we had 12 girls and they were absolutely gorgeous...layed regularly and thouroughly enjoyed roaming around and doing chicken things....just wish we had more space and could keep the pesky fox away!! We would definitely have some more!! Please don't be put off...they deserve to have a bit of real life before they die!!!

i'll second that  ex bats are wonderfull and watching a knackered unloved bird become happy an playfull is a wonderfull thing  they have as much  love to give as any bird .
