Broadbean flowers - no pods?
« on: June 08, 2009, 14:29 »
I've been really excited by the number of flowers on my relatively small number of broadbeans.  1st time growing BBs, but I've noticed the flowers are starting to shrivel / fall and no obvious sign of pods developing - am I just being impatient?

They are in tubs and some in my raised beds - <10 plants in total, but plenty flowers.  All within say 5m radius.  Plants look really healthy otherwise.

Thanks

This happened on my Broad beans ...... most of the flowers low down dried and fell off, but higher up the plant green beans started to grow through the dried flowers (not all of them about 2 or 3 at each cluster of flowers.

Now have a few decent sized broad beans but not a big a harvest as I would have hoped, some plants only have about 6/7 beans on them.
