How long do you guys leave the heat lamp on for with chicks. I have bought in a couple of chicks as I was left with only one. The seller said there a week and a half and to turn the heat off at two weeks.

The chicks are in my small back bedroom which gets the sun all day, there is also two incubators on in there at the min so its really quite warm.

What do you guys suggest?

I usually keep chicks under heat for about 5 weeks (depending how warm the weather is), raising the lamp every week.

I got my chicks in the middle of April. They were under heat for 4.5weeks, spent half a week indoors with no heat, and then they went outside.
