ever thought about ex battery hens robert?  they are 50p each, and your nearest co-ordinator for the Battery Hen Welfare Trust is in Ashford.

We've just picked up another 20 from our local co-ordinator as I sell the eggs from the house and a colleague sells them to friends where he lives.  We had to buy some more, as I can't get enough eggs to supply everyone.  They are older hens, who would otherwise be dead now, but they are only 18 months old with lots more life and hopefully eggs in them yet!!!

We also live near Dover and got ours from Home Farm Fowls at Orpington - www.homefarmfowls.co.uk. If you e-mail Colin or Fee through their website they'll be able to let you know if they have any chickens at POL at the moment.
