slug pellets and hoeing

I'm concerned that when I hoe my beds to get rid of weeds I'm covering up the slug pellets I've put down. Will they still work if they get covered in soil?

yes they still work in the soil , the soil is where the slugs hide away

might get a little weak if it rains
